I think also, in regards to BMC, at least with their Gran Fondo platform, is they had some funky drop outs.



This was a buddy's GF01 that he put in a trainer last year and the trainer skewer he bought had a long countersunk screw on it. When he clamped it down, not paying attention, crushed/cracked the carbon. The dropout was fine (and still fine) but stuff like that, I suspect, is what manufacturers might also trying to protect themselves from with regards to claims.
