The serial number should provide some indication of whether it was built at Worksop, Ilkston, or another location. My guess is that Worksop is fairly likely. The construction doesn't seem consistent with the quality of work done at Ilkston.

It looks like a nice enough bike, and would guess that the frame quality is on par with the Campy GS components. i.e. should ride well, but is lacking some of the fit and finish of the higher end models.

Raleigh's fit and finish on their carlton models, regardless of tier, was often lacking. If anything, I think the competitions are more consistent than the earlier Internationals and pros.

As far as comparison to a Paramount...I'm not sure how you'd evaluate, but most Paramounts came with higher end parts. It's certainly worth a lot less.
