i'm gonna keep reinvigorating this thread with knee narratives--you're welcome to do the same.

so, just got back from my first appointment with a physical therapist here at the U. she was more comprehensive that the sports medicine doc in terms of trying to determine where the imbalances are and which muscles need to be (re)built. again, though, it's unmistakable that my left leg is MUCH stronger than my right one. from all the crap that has happened to my right left (broke both tibia and fibula, from which i know i haven't fully recovered) plus anatomical imbalances, my right knee is bearing way too much force from cylcing. in fact, it's making it worse; well, partially: it's making my left leg beastly while ****ing up my right knee.

it's pretty amazing that there's such a difference in my legs. again, it looks (and feels, now that i'm focusing on it), like i'm recovering from an injury (which i still might be, probably having never fully recovered from past leg injuries). i'm a mess. however, apparently you are all, too, as evidenced by the "scar" thread. drink to it.

so the first step is just to build upper leg muscles while keeping track of how my patella is positioned in the process. my first exercises are remedial: one-legged squats forcing my knee out as i do them. that's it for now. i see her again on friday so i'll update the "diary" then.
