What 80's Schwinn do you have? Some had very nice frames, some sucked. Any stickers that tell what kind of tubing it was or where it was made? It may or may not be worth putting a new wheelset on. If you do put a nice wheelset on it, you can always move that wheelset to a nice frame in the future.
