I notice that it says that for about 0.4 miles, I traveled at 0 mph. I don't know how I can get from Point A to Point B at that speed, so it's one of many GPS errors I get. The NYC terrain makes GPS funny. The iphone is more accurate than the Garmin I used to use, though.
