glad I could help... I racked my brain for ages on the same question for both asthetic and practical reasons (I turn the bars on this bike sideways on the bike rack to get it as close to the back of the truck as possible and threadless stems are not as quick to adjust)...I was actually trying to find someone to tap a thread into the steerer when the shop suggested grafting... Just make sure the weld is done by a competent person, a weak weld on a steerer is a bad idea
