Actually, the Magnic lights are not dim. They also do not use added magnets, they work off the eddy currents created by the internal magnets on the aluminum rim (don't work with carbon though). I've had many comments about my rear light. I don't know how bright the front is, but probably more on the low lux range of the current dynamo lights. They are still pretty usable.
