If you have friction shifting and the frame spacing can accommodate the 7 cog wheel, then no worries. If you have indexed shifting, then you need to consider shifter/cluster compatibility to assess the change.
Shifters are friction bar ends so that's not gonna be an issue and the new wheel will be 126 like the old one. Looks like I'll go ahead and up it to 7. Thanks for the help.
