Ready to move up...

I've been a recreational rider for years, riding 200-300 miles a year. Then a year ago after my annual physical I decided I needed to exercise more regularly, so I started a daily routine of riding in my gated community every morning before sun-up, 5-6 days/week, about 12 miles. Until now I've been riding my 13 year old Bianchi hybrid, but I think it's ready to retire on me. So, I need a new bike.

I need some advise on what style of bike to get, and what features to look for. I like the hybrid style, flat bar bikes, but I'm not opposed to other formats. I ride exclusively on pavement, so I'm not considering mtbs. This is purely for exercise, no group rides or cross country events for me, so I don't need anything real fancy or super light or ultra expensive. My budget is around $700-800. I've been eyeing the Ibex Corrida LT ($600) and the more expensive ($900) Corrida Ultimate. I'm not stuck on these, but would like some feedback on them and other recommendations.

I'm also trying to figure out what size frame I should get. I'm 5'10", 195lbs, 30" inseam. It seems I could go with either a 54 or a 57 (is there anything in between?).
