I put 'em on my '92 mountain bike's canti brakes before settling on tires I really wanted. I swapped out the 700x35 all terrain tires for 700x42 Continental Speed Rides and the fit was a bit snug when I needed to fix a flat. I can still remount the inflated tire, but it takes a little wiggling.

BTW, they Eagle 2 pads are easy to set up for low-squeal braking. The plow tip automagically sets the toe-in so you don't need to use a shim, rubber band or zip tie as a makeshift shim. Just mash the entire brake pad flat against the rim, align it and cinch the bolt tight and the toe-in should be right. But it won't actually work that way because cantilever brakes are a PITA to set and you'll probably need to redo it two or three times to get it right. But at least you won't need a separate shim for toe-in.
Does anyone have a measurement on the Eagle 2 pads? I just measured the clearance between the rear portion of the smooth stud and the front fork, and I only have about 1" of space. So if the trailing end of the pad is more than 1", I'll have to find something more compact.

Yes, that's pretty much my setup. I'm worried that the longer pads won't clear the fork (or chainstays) though.
