Iceland in May-June -too hard?

Yet another Iceland thread..

I've experience with camping in the tropics, but nothing else.
So lots of doubts about attempting Iceland at the end of May, going into June.

The plan is to cover the western half of Iceland using a mix of buses (for the long distance) and cycling once I'm in an area.
This is because I have only about 10days and will be doing photography as well (ie. waiting for sunrise/set, that sort of thing)

Questions :

1. Clothing - I got the upper torso settled. But I have no idea about the lower portion of the body.
Should I just use normal clothing?
Actually thinking of padded shorts, leg warmers, with track pants over the former two. (is that enough?)

2. Tent - Looking at this :
Alps Lynx
https://www.amazon.com/ALPS-Mountain...ords=alps+tent

As I won't use it much in locally, I am trying to not spend too much at all.
Will this do in the Spring>Summer temps? (though their temp is more like an Australian winter )

3. Stove - Is this essential?
I know its nice with hot food and drink, but is it possible to 'suffer' thru it on canned beans, hard tack biscuits?

4. Bike/Tires - Doing it on a foldable that currently has 1.5" tires (Marathon Racers). Would this be a problem with the more accessible scenic spots?
Seems some areas are rocky/sandy. (or is it ok if I stick to proper roads and well known scenic spots?)

TIA
