From the department of useless facts: My current build in progress is a 1989 Schwinn Circuit with Columbus SL/SP tubing with the OE Tange fork. I was surprised to see this combo weighs 8 tenths (0.8) of a pound more than my Raleigh USA frameset with Reynolds 531c. Same scale was used to measure. In fairness, the Schwinn is bigger with a 59cm seat tube vs. the Raleigh with a 56cm. Still, it's a little disappointing to know this Schwinn "lightweight" with Columbus SL tubing is nearly a pound heavier before I hang the first part.

The frames:

Raleigh frame: 4.27lbs + fork 1.45lbs = 5.72lbs

Schwinn Circuit frame: 4.75lbs + fork 1.8lbs = 6.55lbs
