John, that's great that you did this ride/event. I'm glad that 3-speed is not a requirement, because right now, my Grubb is a 4-speed. I am not sure why many of these events have a central theme of alcohol comsumption, but I suppose that is enticing to some. I'd like to find a 3-day event with 30-60M rides each day and lots of food afterward and camping, like a C&V Woodstock. Woodrupstock!
I've done five Lake Pepin 3speed tours. It is a 2 day event with 40-45 miles a day with options for more miles. Food is a big part of the event & you can use your 4 speed. There is camping if you chose & the nice thing is that you don't have to carry your camping gear. A shuttle vehicle will carry it. It's a great event!
