haha yup guess so. just used the stuff I had in the basement. prob cudda gone to the hardware store & gotten some thick brass or something. took quite a few tries to bend it so the holes were where I wanted them. I wanted a tight fit. ideally I tried to make it so the nut would be up against the bottom tang thereby not needing a wrench to hold it, but this was the best I could do after 3 return trips to the bench vise
