When someone takes your bike it is a sign to move on up in the world and start caring about your bike. Get a good bike and a good lock and use both A LOT!!! Wabi seems to make a solid machine at not too much coin or maybe go to your local shop and check out what they have or what their staff rides. I have yet been in a shop that doesn't have at least one SS/FG rider. The shop I work at currently has 3 at least (including myself). They might be able to point you in a good direction.
If you get some cashola together the Cinelli Work frame is a lot of fun (at least my build is) and has a lot of options on how to build it up and use it.
