This is no beauty and not even very rare or desirable a frame, but it demonstrates what a little ingenuity can accomplish. I went to the co-op on a mission and noticed a long bike hung over the rack when I was parking. I assumed it was a cycle truck or tandem drafted into utility service. On closer examination I saw it was a standard Specialized frame, probably a Hard Rock, with the entire rear swingarm from some full suspension bike bolted to the rear dropouts to extend the wheelbase. Additional bracing, using the red frame's rear derailleur to take up chain slack; pretty damn clever (and cheap!), I thought, if it works for the guy. Bolt up your milk crate and you're ready to haul.
