the worst thing I seem to recall reading about them is that they are heavy (duhh)... but seems a lot of clydes around here have had good luck with them...

I'd personally look at velomine deep V rims... a little over $200 for 36h with 105 hubs for some more standardized parts... I like shimano hubs for road riding (easy to adjust and clean/replace bearings if needed) so that is prob part of it... for a bit more you can upgrade to ultegra hubs which are very smooth
