You never heard the expression "rode hard and put up wet?" After riding a horse you take care of him. Brush him, dry him off if you need to. Something to eat if you're a nice guy. The horse could get chilled and stressed to the point of getting sick.

A bike of course won't get sick from being wet. Or have anything else go wrong, really.
