As for why to dry the bike(s), that is so that water doesn't get stuck in threads/hex heads, other places where corrosion can occur. Plus it removes spotting afterward. Drying a bike is just another protective measure. Best practices.

Allot of people live in very dry places with very low humidifies, and so drying is quick. That is not the case where I live. 90F with a 75-78F dewpoint and light wind of mid-summer does not encourage rapid drying. Still some people won't want to bother. Fine by me. As for what some of you think of me drying my bikes...... don't know... don't care.
