Should I need to adjust V brakes this often?
I have a basic hybrid that I use when traveling where the bike will be out of my sight etc. Sometimes, I have to remove the front wheel when transporting, but anymore, the brakes will go ahead a disconnect (as if I were going to remove the wheel) with very little pressure as might accidentally happen when loading the bike with front wheel still mounted. When this happens the brake always hangs up when re-connected, with one arm/brake pad hitting where it's supposed to on the rim, and the other always with the brake pad landing above the rim on the tire. Typically I seem to have to recenter the wheel and futz with it, and then finally, everything is where it's supposed to be. I guess I'll have to mess with it and see what all needs adjustment, but I never could get it to not be off kilter/dragging last night when I pulled it out of the car for a ride. I messed with it for 10 minutes, fingers were frozen, finally just left it "off" so I could actually get the ride in.
Surely, this shouldn't require any real amount of fussing with, even when removing/installing the wheel each time, right? Something must not be adjusted correctly causing this constant re-adjusting, right? Aside from following the
"adjusting v brakes" youtube videos I've found online, what else should I be looking for?
