That cromo frame will be around for a long, long time after the alu/carbon frameset has gone to the great bicycle boneyard in the sky. What model Bianchi do you have?

EDIT: I can't tell from your post if you're replacing your bike because the parts are worn out, or because you feel it's dated. The cromo double-butted tubing is a very good frame. SunTour was a manufacturer of very high-quality components. Unless the bike isn't meeting your needs, or is worn out, there's really no need to replace/rebuild. Unless it makes you happy.
I can't remembre what model Bianchi. I paid about $600 for it 14 years ago. I think I've gotten my money's worth after 14 yrs and several thousand miles.

My reasons for upgrading are twofold, 1-the bike is worn and rusting 2- I'd like to get more modern geometry and componentry. To me the bike feels rather heavy, I would guess 25-26lbs, and the SunTour components are all wearing out and failing.
