Being a dinosaur I remember back in the day you could swap cages on Shimano derailleurs. That would give you the ability to get a long cage on a road bike derailleur. If that still holds true you could swap cages on road 11 speed with a MTB cage to get a lot of capacity. Has anyone tried that? It would avoid all the actuation ratio hassles.
