Electrical tape isn't up to the task because it'll stretch and eventually blow through.

However any ballistic, fiber reinforced tape will serve. I use fiberglass reinforced strapping tape, not to save money, but because it's thinner and makes tire mounting easier.

In any case, it's not a big deal either way, use whatever suits your preference.
