25 pounds isn't heavy for a steel bike-- I think it's probably pretty light for steel. It is heavy compared to aluminum or carbon, but then again, an alumninum/carbon frameset isn't likely to give you 14 years of service.
I have sold 17lbs steel bikes, there really isnt much if any weight penalty associated with steel as many believe, it just has this stigma attached that makes people shy away from it and run to carbon and aluminum.
