Don't forget that if you make a windscreen for your canister stove do it in such a way that the canister can not overheat. Overheated a canister can explode.
Check out Soto stoves, the Amicus is more wind resistant than most stoves. And their micro regulator stove has an optional windscreen.
the windscreen for the Giga power is very heavy.
And there are some very cheap stoves on Amazon.
I've seen some photos of burnt up tents, sleeping bags, and everything else. Really puts the hurt on your trip.
A nalgene water bottle, or 2 or 3, with hot water put inside your sleeping bag with you should keep you warm safely. Gotta have the right set up and experience for winter camping.
