I am about to purchase my 4th stove in about 40 years.

SVEA 123 white gas
GAZ puncture type cannister
GAZ removable cannister

All these stoves work fine.
I like the butane/propane for cooking... like eggs or pancakes ,as it is quickly adjustable and easily started.
The SVEA 123 runs too hot... great for water but not much else.
I suspect these hot small wood stoves would be ok for water.

My next stove will be the Snow Peak GigaPower Auto.

BTW, really quite pissed at Coleman for deciding not to import the GAZ fuel canisters.

And, I have used a stove to heat a tent in below freezing weather....
Yes, the butane-burning Camping GAZ stoves; (Bluet, EPI, etc) put out far less carbon monoxide than any other fossil fuel. I've used mine to heat up the inside of a cold tent for just one minute when I wake up at 4:00 a.m. and 30 degrees. A space blanket rigged to your tent ceiling will magnify its effect.
(Of course, you need to find the vanishing, screw-on butane cartridges, but I think Coleman makes some).
