To ride or not to ride

I really dislike feeling torn between the couch and the saddle. I've been sick and a short re-intro ride on Thursday resulted in rather painful throat and lungs, and a bad cough for the rest of the day. But I was on a bike and I was happy and thankfully the cough disappeared overnight.

It's a nice day today and I feel like I should take advantage of it. I'm out of town tomorrow, and it looks like we have a week+ of rain coming up, so why not ride?!... But I'm feeling so low energy... I could use a 3 hour nap right now and my legs feel weak on a bike and I don't particularly enjoy riding alone and I already passed my 2016 mileage goal... So I'm spending my morning debating pros and cons. Part of me is worried that forcing myself to do it, will contaminate what is usually an all-consuming passion for cycling.

Do you force yourself to ride when you don't feel like it?
