Hey guys, I built up a BMC SLR01 and BMC told me the max tire size was 25. Well, we all know that Michelin and Contis run pretty wide. I chose not to use wide rims in this case and used DT 440s (16mm internal and 21mm external) and my 23 Michelin Pro 4s do not look oversized and it "looks like I have clearance in the chainstays. I'm tempted to try Conti 4000 ii in 25 for my long ride I'm training for. Has anyone tried specific 25 tires and measured them or at lest made sure there were no clearance issues on the BMC SLR01 (or SLR02) 2014-2015 with the redesigned seat stays?

I am ordering a saddle and was going to order a couple of tires but not without at least being reasonably sure they would fit. I should go to Home Depot and pick up calipers, even though all I would use them for is tire width measurement.

Oh, the bike itself is even more impressive than I had hoped for. It is extremely responsive and the compliance is pretty impressive for such a fast bike. The front-to-back compliance is identical, it seems. BMC is surprisingly (to me) good at building frames. I expected a fast bike but not one that was comfortable even with 23s. I suspect I'll be happier over long distances with 5s.
