You want flat? Drive to Clarksburg and take your pick of incredibly flat roads. River Road north. River Road south. Netherlands Road. All flatter 'n a pancake except for occasionally going off of or back onto a levee. Light traffic, at least in weekends. A plethora of out-and-back or loop options. All very flat. Excellent, smooth pavement on the River Road - perfect for what you want. Pretty good to good pavement on Netherlands and most of the other paved roads in the area - more than adequate for your application. Some of the smaller back roads are pretty chewed up - fine for joy riding, but not for what you have in mind.

My sister-in-law and brother-in-law live in The Pocket, and Clarksburg and beyond is my go-to ride when visiting for any length of time. As long as it isn't 100 degrees out, it's very pleasant riding.

Did I mention it is flat there?
