Consider this; What happens when/if you are not satisfied with a warranty claim on the jamis product that you purchased. After you've exhausted your options with the lbs, you are basically s.o.l. as you will have fun trying to contact Jamis.

I'm sure they are great bikes but there are a lot of great bikes from manufacturers that are maybe a little more consumer friendly.

Plenty on companies don't need trivial questions like seat posts, that is why there is a network of dealers.
