@surfjimc If I didn't have them both I'd take you up on the offer. The pass it on with comments is a great idea and maybe something I'll look at for some books I may not want to read again later.

Due to the snow and sub freezing temps here it is stationary bike season for me and I am currently reading David Lamb's book while I ride. I read any type of bike touring book I can get my hands on and I agree this one is very good and rates high on my list. It is probably the best one I have found to give to a non-bike touring person that might help them understand why we do it and realize basically anyone can tour and get a lot of satisfaction from the effort.

BTW: I noticed the 85 Specialized Expedition in your screen information. I love mine and they are fantastic touring bikes.
