There are all kinds of thicknesses also, but like with everything, it comes down to balancing cost/size/weight/comfort, and what works for you.
We camp a lot. Once or twice a month twelve months a year. We travel pretty light so if we got a pad it'd have to be A) under a pound B) be able to fit both of us on it and C) not too expensive
