Rain is 'for sure'.
In the tropics, the good is that even if you get wet, you don't really get very cold and often the exercise from the cycling will be good enough to keep you warm.

Having a pair of sandals (or just using them all the way) is good since the shoe can get wet.

W/o the need to camp (no such thing as camp grounds in M'sia), I carry my stuff about the same way as Abu_M.
