Yeah, 3k miles is about the limit for a Pro4sc as a rear tire.
If you buy them through UK shops, they usually go for $30-$35. I loved those tires until I switched to Pro4 Endurance. Almost the same ride and weight, and much more durable(and slightly better mileage).
