Soma Double Cross frame size Question

Ok I have more or less decided I really like the looks of the SOMA double cross frame and I think I want to use it as the basis for my touring bike. I already have most of the components I want to use as I have been collecting parts for quite some time.

Here is my question , since SOMA sells frames and I cant find a bike to try, can anyone give me an idea about how the 52cm and 54cm bikes fit ? I am 5'10 with 31 inch legs. When I use the bike size calculator it tells me I should be riding a 54 which is actually taller than what I ride in a MTB. There is a Trek dealer, Specialized, and KONA/Giant dealer in the town where I am living. Any help would really be appreciated because I dont want to buy a frame that will not work for me and be unable to ride it because its not comfortable.

Thanks so much !
