I don't doubt that hidden motors have been used in bikes in pro racing, but they're going to have to do better than that kind of unsubstantiated sensationalism. That can happen with any bike in a crash with forward momentum that ends up scraping a pedal and poised with the rear wheel off the ground. There's at least one video on Youtube demonstrating how easily in can happen with a bike with no motor.
It's not surprising that they used that video, since it makes good TV. People on bike forums should be more skeptical or open-minded, depending on how you look at it.
Good point. Even though there may be evidence of mechanical doping, the 60 Minute piece did a poor job of proving its case. They only interviewed people with a stake, even a financial stake, in the matter.
Facts and more evidence are needed.
60 Minutes has a history of coming up with hit pieces. It is good for their ratings.
