For a lower end frame I would not bother but for an actual X4 fork it might be a worthwhile exercise if the framemaker I have in mind is up to it.
That I cannot tell you cause I bought the fork along with a CIOCC frame and later replaced this Bianchi fork with a CIOCC fork.
I don't know its history except it has the 'correct' crown
AFAIK, and never had paint on the blades...it MAY have had some in-fill paint in the panto but it's so long ago I can't recall.
I have some more pix so I'll get them to you if you're still interested.
