Thanks for any compliments on my bike and/or garage door

Did you run it with matching BB, or use a different (less expensive) one? I've heard the Veloce BB also works.
Yeah, other top-of-the-line cranksets get more love around here but I love my Record Pista crank. Have had this one for an awful long time and used it with the "matching" bottom bracket on my previous bike that had an English BB shell. It worked fine but I ride my bike on the street, by the beach, regularly in adverse weather conditions, so I wanted something with true sealed bearings that would be completely maintenance-free when I moved it to this frame.
Ran across an OmniRacer bottom bracket (they advertise themselves as being lightest BB available) with titanium and ceramic goodies, that fit the specs I needed and was somewhat cheaper than the Campy - been happily using it for about 4 yrs and countless thousands of trouble-free miles. Never tried a Veloce (or Chorus or Athena) BB so I can't comment on those.
I will say that if one just looks a little - it is not too hard to find well-priced Record Pista BBs, if that is your preference when the time comes. And depending on what you've got saved-up...I do have a NIB "back-up" 165 mm Campy crankset with a 49t ring that it looks like I will never need to use since the one I am using looks almost new and just keeps on keeping on. I won't give it away - but I would try to be reasonable...
