I just got the 'opportunity' to remove a tire that I taped on with the Carogna, to true a wheel with internal nipples (internal nipples on a tubular is a whole nother can of worms)

I weighed the removed tape at 41g. That is after 5 months on the wheel, so I assume it had time to dry out a bit.

When I used regular glue, I would use one 25g tube on a rim that already had a layer of old glue. For a clean rim a tube and a half, maybe 35g worth. The regular glue dries out a lot during the 2-3 day ritual, I weighed it once years ago, and iirc the glue adds ~15g to the total.
I imagine for cx you use more glue and it approaches 40g of added mass.

The other consideration is the removed Carogna tape measured 1.2mm thick. This is noticeably thicker than 3 layers of glue, and for my 25mm vittoria means you can see the tire's base tape from both sides.

I wish they would make the tape thinner. It's very sticky and holds so tight that they could definitely get away with less glue, at least for road tires.
