I live just north of Springfield. I retired early about 12 years ago and started riding. I ride everyday when weather permits, and have logged over 7,000 miles several years in a row, and over 8,000 last year. The trails from Springfield north to Urbana, the Simon Kenton Trail, and south to Yellow Springs and Xenia, Little Miami Trail, are terrific places to ride. In Springfield, the Buck Creek Trail is a good in town trail. Springfield has been very active in trying to promote riding. They have expanded some of the streets with bike lanes, even out to the suburbs, and this past year added an in town dedicated expansion of the Little Miami to the southern part of the town.
