I recently purchased a Cygolite Hotshot Pro 150 tail light. It will replace a Planet Bike blinkie.

The PB was battery operated and I always carried a spare pair in case I ran out of juice.

I have never used an USB rechargeable tail light.

The Hotshot has five ligh modes, from continuous on to four other blinking modes.

Does anyone know which mode yields the longest battery life on a full charge?

I have L&M front lights, an Urban 800 and a Taz 1500. For both of these lights the blinking mode yields the longest battery life.

But given four blinking choices, I am not sure which is the best for long battery life.
