FYI, this USED bike was just delivered and unpacked; I haven't had the time to clean everything and go through the bike (hence the need for questions answered). I am a stickler for wanting my bikes clean and functioning flawlessly. And these brakes have some kind of screw adjustments which I'm trying to figure out (unlike typical brakes), yes the tire is somewhat wider than the brake opening (which with a quick release can be easily removed, duh), and no I don't want to go to the bike shop every time I want to take the wheels off/on or adjust the brakes.
