Crits are all about light wheels. It saves you energy out of every corner, every acceleration. But if it's a flat course, it's all about your head and legs.
Since you are a cat4 with a small field, I would concentrate on good one-on-one tactics because if you are in a position to win it will be from a small group or a small bunch sprint. It is too short a race for a couple bike pounds to matter either way. It's going to be about your position and when you make your move.
