Hi all,

Riding a LHT around Mexico. Had some Tekro mini v-brakes which were okay until the tensioner screws failed on the spring arms (i.e. those long set of prongs which keep the pads away from the rim when not in use). I am using Shamano STI integrated shifters. I can't find minis here in Mexico city with the LBS only having Shamno BR-4000. The local mechanic said these would be okay but I heard you cannot run v brakes with STI shifters. Any advice for me?
