Cue cards are not my recommendation, it's a reference point for how some riders like to follow a route. There are many quality
cue card holders on the market, that will keep your cards secure and dry. Also, like I said, I know many events that will not give you the route in advance, you get cue cards at the start line.
Cue cards are not my preferred method; however, when I'm riding an unsupported gravel ride, I keep cue cards as a back up to my Garmin's 'bread-crumb' route.
