Axle play in dropouts

Hey,

I acquired a vintage frame for free with semi horizontal dropouts and I'm working on singlespeeding it.

The axles I have on the wheels I'm using were slightly larger than the original ones and wouldn't quite fit into the dropouts so I filed the bottom side of the drops a bit.

As it turns out it was mostly the very tip of the drop that was tight, and from filing I now have maybe a mm of play at the axle further into the dropout.

I'm assuming this is no big deal since it is only only the bottom side that was filed. Can anyone confirm that?
