Did the Shootout yesterday, it did not go swimmingly. No problem with the rollout; when the pace kicked up to normal speed, at 14 minutes in I started to get serious pain, just this side of cramping, in my quads, and in spite of how hard it felt I was pushing on the pedals, I filtered out the back. I was bummed, to say the least. I was fortunate to have a couple of guys, one a coach for one of the local Juniors teams (El Grupo) and another a local Master's racer who cut his ride short due to a chest cold, shepherd me back in. I recovered enough to ride decently on the way back in.

3:14 at endurance pace today. I made no attempt to light any fireworks this morning though I did have to push up a couple of short, sharp climbs. I maintained good, steady power for the ride, so it was beneficial.

Totals for the week: ~ 19 hours, 301 miles, 18852 feet of climbing, TSS 1078, CTL 91 (that won't last), TSB -35. Most climbing and highest TSS to date, and I damned sure feel it!
