This group is somewhat unique as you already know, the crank and pedals being more so. I have one of these cranks on my pink Merz that has been modified to a triple by him with a 24t inner ring so it is even more unique and has the standard pedal adapters so I run standard MKS quills. It is a great standard square taper crank, but would not be on here if not the triple. A lot of aero frames from the early days also had unique features for a particular group and while this was a main one that was used, some had fittings that don't match up. The good news is that this group was mainly aimed at upgrading a standard frame for the most part while some builders built a show bike around this group as Merz did for the New York bike show when it first came out.

Or I am starting with a bare frameset and am trying to make a component decision on the build? I could also have a certain component Groupo and am wondering what type of frameset should I look for to build it up with?
So build recommendations appreciated, in brief or with details is fine. Maybe others would build choice advice on their projects as well.
I have a somewhat unique Dura Ace AX Groupo from early 80's. No post or stem.

I am looking for a frameset to build it up, but haven't found anything yet. If I could find a Aero frame, that would suit the Groupo well, but steel aero bikes usually come up as complete. Haven't seen many early 80's Aero just framesets. Maybe another type of frame would work from same era, any suggestions?
