alot of good advice from actual experience here.
if you ride every day its a matter of survival that you get your act together.
also you get peace of mine. armadillos i here ALOT about as a good make if you want peace of mind and not get stranded.
myself, i can't afford a motor vehicle and don't like them. i use only a bike. on my hybrid 700c i use panaracer tour guide tires, they have kevlar lining, which is what i believe the police bullet proof vests are made of. i too have "my story" which i hazard to mention at risk of being labeled a liar, but i'll mention it anyway.
i was riding and all of a sudden after going through a large puddle my rear tire was not running true. i felt it as probably a spoke popping and when i checked it was actually a screw! impaled in the tire, however it did not penetrate through the lining.
