That's a beauty! One thing to keep in mind, maybe you already have, is that you may want to swap stems along with the bars to get the reach right for you in the more upright position. The shape of the bars, whether or not they extend forward of the stem clamp, variety of hand positions they offer, etc. will obviously play a roll. Posts 20 and 22 point out some differences in bars+stem length. Enjoy, I've done the same with a Motobecane and love having that bit of variety to choose from for the day's activities. On that one I stuck with my usual stem length to give the option of stretching out to get out of the wind.
Some post-surgery photos would be nice to see!
